Denette Varley, MA. LMFT, LSAA, ACS
Denette (she/her/hers) has been working in the mental health profession since 1999 and as a therapist since 2006. She has worked in the home with families as well as residential treatment centers, Treatment Foster Care and completing adoption home studies. She has been trained and was a clinical supervisor in Functional Family Therapy. She has extensive training in substance abuse (Matrix Model, Seeking Safety and 7 Challenges) and is a Licensed Substance Abuse Associate (LSAA). She has been trained and certified in TF-CBT and also holds Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) certification.
Denette Varley graduated with a degree in Marriage and Family therapy from University of Phoenix. She attended the University of New Mexico, where she received her Bachelors in Psychology.
Denette enjoys working with adolescent and adult individuals who have co-occurring disorders. She also enjoys working with individuals that have family members that struggle with substance abuse or addictions. She works with clients with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, self-harming behaviors and suicidality. Her therapeutic approach includes working with the individual and their family in teaching clients coping skills and other tools to assist them in successful and lasting life. Denette feels that we do not always choose what challenges come into our life, however we do have a choice with how to deal with these concerns.
Celina Baca, LPCC
Celina Baca (she/her/hers) is Licensed Certified Professional Counselor (LPCC) and Certified Synergetic Play Therapist.Celina has experience and enjoys working with adults, teens and children who are struggling with life transitions, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, grief and loss, stress, anger issues and low self-esteem. Celina has experience in helping clients work through trauma and integrate their emotions,feelings and body sensations. Celina helps the client understand the connection between all three to help promote the healing process.
As a certified Synergetic Play Therapist, Celina specializes in trauma and the affects trauma has on the nervous system. As a certified Synergetic Play Therapist, Celina works closely with the children’s caregiver to help them understand the impact of trauma on their children and their behaviors. Play
therapy helps children integrate, identify and name the thoughts, emotions, feelings and body sensations so they are able to self-regulate and obtain good coping skills.
Celina Baca has a BA in psychology from Metropolitan State College, a Master’s Degree from the University of New Mexico Highlands in Professional Counseling and is a Certified Synergetic Play
